STABLE GROWTH.
With a history going back to 1885, the Arts University Bournemouth ‘AUB’ offer high quality specialist education across all creative industries incorporating art, design, media and performance.
THE CHALLENGE.
- AUB were using a financial system which because many of their students come from overseas had multi-currency functionality set up. However, they had problems with reporting, corruption issues and instances when users were unexplainably locked-out.
- The AUB were in the market for a new financial system and wanted to ideally work with a local supplier.
- AUB needed scalability within the system, a requirement for a solution that operated on an SQL server database to facilitate this was of high importance.
- Despite being a not-for-profit organisation, the AUB have a trading and charity arm so there was a requirement for software that could handle both elements. They also needed the ability to extend some of their processes, such as budget holders view reports, online purchasing and expenses, via the web.
THE SOLUTION.
Enhanced phased an implementation of Access Dimensions with Fixed Assets and FocalPoint.
THE RESULTS.
A complete solution that meet all the operational challenges AUB set out in their initial requirements document. Enhanced developers also created integration links from their existing online payment solution (WPM) into Access Dimensions as well as between their SITS programme.
THE BENEFITS.
Since working with Enhanced and using Access Dimensions, the AUB have benefited from a stable financial system with powerful reporting options. This includes generating reports from within the system as standard and using dynamic automated alerting tools.
Future plans for AUB include the roll out of FocalPoint to bring integrated web-based functionality. This will enable the AUB to benefit from multi-authorisation workflow processes with ability for workers to view information and instigate processes without needing to take up additional accounts user licences.
