Infrastructure Pre-Sales Engineer

What will you be doing?

You will take responsibility for understanding client requirements. You will position and design appropriate infrastructure solutions and articulate the benefits of the solutions. The pre-sales engineer will manage the technical elements of the solution through to the completion of the sales process. For all converted opportunities, the pre-sales engineer will then handover all relevant details regarding the design to the implementation team.

When you’re not delivering new projects, you will be expected to be involved in third line support, proactively developing and maintaining existing customer’s infrastructure and working on in-house projects.

What skills and experience should you have?

The techy bits:

A strong knowledge and experience of designing solutions based on the following technologies or similar is required for this role: VMware vSphere 5.x and 6.x, Office 365, Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Server, SQL Server & Windows Clients, Veeam Backup and Replication or similar back up/disaster recovery technology, Microsoft remote desktop services and/or Citrix, Symantec Cloud or similar, Eset & Kaspersky Antivirus, WatchGuard XTM Firewall, HP ML and DL servers & HP switching. Experience of designing solutions involving storage area networks.

The commercial bits:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a pre-sales or senior engineering role.
  • Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for travel is essential.
  • Ability to work methodically and thoroughly.
  • Ability to produce detailed documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A commercial understanding of the solutions and services provided by Enhanced. Must demonstrate a commercial awareness of what a business and its users need and expect from their IT Infrastructure.
  • Ability for continued learning, innovation and strong motivation for problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
