What is Defence Cyber Certification (DCC)?

DCC is an emerging cyber assurance standard designed to strengthen cyber resilience across the UK defence supply chain. It outlines proportionate requirements based on the sensitivity of the work a supplier performs.

Do I need DCC?

Any business working within, or supplying into, the defence sector may require DCC as expectations evolve. This may include primes, SMEs, subcontractors, manufacturers, and service providers.

Is DCC mandatory yet?

DCC is not yet a formal requirement. However, it is being actively developed for future adoption, and early awareness will prevent disruption when implementation begins.

How is DCC different from Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001?

Cyber Essentials focuses on basic cyber security, and ISO 27001 is a full information security management framework.
