Kaspersky Endpoint Security now supports Windows 10
Posted on 17 January 2016
The much anticipated Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows Workstations: Service Pack 1, Maintenance Release 2, was made available to all on Monday 7th December.
Okay so “much anticipated” might be pushing it a little, but boring technical types such as myself and my colleagues, working in Enhanced’s Infrastructure department were moderately pleased with this development.
This latest version of Kaspersky's Antivirus product for Business now fully supports Windows 10. Which for those of you who have called us asking if you can upgrade to Windows 10, the answer has now changed from ‘no’ to ‘maybe’. The main consideration to make before making the leap to Windows 10 is application compatibility. Many application vendors still do not support Windows 10. Even where your application does support the latest OS, for example ERP systems, the software may need upgrading first, which is not always a small undertaking. Enhanced customers should always get in touch with us for guidance before upgrading.
Microsoft released their latest Operating System - Windows 10 - on the 29th July 2015, so it is fair to say that Kaspersky have taken longer than expected to release their latest edition of Kaspersky Endpoint Security. This delay has meant that many users of Kaspersky Endpoint Security have had to postpone adoption of Windows 10 and continue using the much maligned Windows 8. Therefore I’m sure that many of our customers and also the guys here at Enhanced will be very happy that the update is finally available.
The latest version of Kaspersky Endpoint Security is available here.
IT admins can also download the latest Kaspersky Security Centre 10, patch D – required for the aforementioned latest release – here.
