Approaching the final months of Southampton Solent University in 2012, much careful consideration was applied to not only successfully completing my degree - but also cementing the next steps in life.
It was at this stage I began searching for a growing, ambitious company that could help me build a career. After endless drafts, my CV was finally good to go, at which point I discovered Enhanced! It didn’t take me long to realise that Enhanced were an organisation with core values similar to my own. I was drawn to the culture within Enhanced and excited by the prospect of being part of something great.
After a two stage interview, I was delighted to be offered a position within the administration team. I was a keen graduate, thrilled to be gaining some real life working experience. I successfully joined the business on 1st October 2012.
I devoted my first few months to finding out how Enhanced operates as a business; its structure, and beginning to understand the people and processes. And of course, I will never forget those first week hiccups - like licking self-seal envelopes!
I began to fully emerge myself into my new role and relished the challenge of further experiences. Building relationships throughout the company during my first year with the organisation helped me recognise my desire to work with people. During this stage, I felt something was missing, I didn’t have assignments to write, I no longer had deadlines hanging over me and I craved the sense of achievement university had given me.
One Sunday evening when having roast dinner, this feeling popped in to my head that I should study further. I kept telling myself, I should utilise my passion, I should study again. Being an active member of Enhanced Culture Club, I was starting to see areas that I wanted to make a difference through training and development, talent processes and many other key HR strategies. I plucked the courage to present a proposal to the directors to study for a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel and Development. The team at Enhanced instantly supported my decision to further my studies and I was overwhelmed to be offered my current position as HR & Talent Co-ordinator in 2014 to achieve my career aspirations. The supportive, understanding and rewarding environment has motivated me to continue making a difference in such an ambitious organisation and always follow my instincts!
