Cyber Security Seminar…What Did You Miss?

Our seminar on Cyber Security Threat prevention last month was a huge success. The event gave insight into the risks faced by modern businesses on a daily basis and what can be done to protect against them.

Guests heard Mark James, from ESET, and Dave Lomax, from Barracuda, discuss the essential process of data security and how to simply but effectively protect assets and information.

If you missed out, your company could still be at risk…but don’t panic! We’ve summarised the event to make sure you, your business and customers are protected from dangerous cyber threats.

The threats

All businesses, big and small, are at risk from cyber security breaches. From spyware that gives attackers access to critical information, to malware, phishing attacks and viruses in many guises, your business is under constant assault.

What do the experts say?

Invest in protection!

To keep business running smoothly and your staff and assets safe, it’s essential to have reliable software in place.

During the seminar Mark James, from ESET, a specialist in IT security with 25 years’ of experience added his input. He highlighted the risks of having gaps in your cyber security, particularly when considering web servers and applications.

After questions and a coffee break, Dave Lomax, from Barracuda, with over 15 years’ of experience in IT security and cryptography, took our guests through protecting the workplace. This invaluable advice gave a real insight into a wide range of security threats and how to combat them.

Both speakers inspired our guests to rethink their cyber security and consider how they could better protect their businesses.

Following great feedback for our first cyber security seminar, we hope to run similar events in the future. We aim to help as many businesses as possible to keep their data safe and operations running smoothly.
