Southampton Venus Awards

Gail Thomas, Managing Director and Vice President of TW Metals, was announced as Enhanced’s 2016 Director of the Year at a glittering ceremony held at the Hilton, Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
Simon White, Enhanced CEO and sponsor of the award, announced Gail as winner at the evening hosted by Shelley Jory-Leigh, Hampshire-born British Power Boat Champion and business woman.
Gail has worked for TW Metals for 38 years, joining the company straight from school. Very much a family person, Gail believes that her success in growing TW metals is down to her style of management. That of an open door policy, shared leadership and having a great pride in everything she does. She strongly believes that her staff are her greatest asset and hopes her enthusiasm and drive is infectious and encourages her people to love the company that she has, and is continuing to build.
“What an honour, to be nominated was a thrill but to be voted winner is amazing. There are so many successful women at the top of their profession and it is so rewarding to see them recognised and rewarded for the crucial role they play.”

Enhanced was delighted to be involved in the selection process of the Venus Southampton awards. “We have met so many inspirational women who have helped their companies become the success that they are today, and it has been a pleasure to share so many business experiences with other business leaders and to learn of their current issues and concerns. Choosing a winner of this award was a challenge but Gail, and the thriving company she has helped build, proved truly inspirational and a deserved winner.”
