Enhanced raise over £800 in just 4 hours
Posted on 11 August 2016
At Enhanced, we’re always up for a challenge and when our staff were asked to see how much money they could raise in a morning for Julia’s House, the challenge began.
At the beginning of the year, Julia’s House was nominated as the Enhanced ‘Charity of the Year’ by our team. To help support Julia’s House, the Enhanced Culture Club organised a day dedicated to fundraising which involved the entire company. The day helped encourage supportive team work whilst going out for the morning to see how much money the whole company could raise in whatever legitimate way they could. CEO, Simon White, not only gave the company the morning to fundraise but actively joined in himself.
Cakes were baked and taken round to customers to buy, static bikes ridden for miles outside Urban Reef and Pier Approach, Bournemouth, and one team spent the morning riding up and down on the Hengistbury Head land train collecting money at Mudeford and Southbourne.
After an eventful morning the teams reconvened back at the Enhanced office and the money was counted. Collectively the Enhanced team raised a total of £844 in just four hours!
“It was such a fun morning, everyone was so supportive and it was a great way to fundraise and encourage teamwork. We are all so busy on a day-to-day basis but to be able to spend valuable time together outside the office was both a brilliant bonding exercise and so rewarding due to the amount of money we raised.”
Laura Cox, HR & Talent Manager, Enhanced
Julia’s House is a children’s hospice in Dorset for children with life-limiting conditions. The money raised by Enhanced can achieve the following:
£60.00 could pay for 2 hours of precious respite time in a child’s own home giving exhausted parents a break.
£168 could pay for a 6-hour hospice session for a school age child during the school holidays, to play and enjoy therapies with the support of professional nurses and carers.
£500 could fund an additional 24 hours of emergency care for a family in crisis, for example when a parent is ill or injured.
“Well done Enhanced. A fantastic idea and what a fantastic result. We are delighted to have your company as a supporter for 2016, your enthusiasm and commitment is an inspiration. The money raised will go such a long way to help deserving families and we cannot thank the entire team at Enhanced enough for their continued support.”
Sue Miles, Business Fundraiser, Julia’s House
We would like to say a huge thank you to the whole Enhanced Team for their hard work, as well as all of our supporters who generously donated towards our charity of the year, Julia’s House.
