BH Live's Venus Award Experience

Peter GunnThis is the second year that Enhanced has sponsored the Company of the Year Venus Award. The competition this year was greater than ever with Dorset having so many outstanding and growing businesses. However, after interviewing numerous companies, Enhanced were delighted to announce BH Live as the 2017 winner.

Following being awarded Company of the Year, Peter Gunn, BH Live’s Chief Executive, caught up with award sponsor Gail Pilling from Enhanced to talk about taking part in this year’s event.

BH Live Company of the Year“We formed in 2010 having been awarded Bournemouth Borough Council’s contract to operate their event venues and leisure centres for public benefit.

“Since then we have grown from strength to strength, expanding our facilities across the region and taking our ethos to other communities. Our team now stands at 1,600 people. More than 3.4 million visits are made into our venues each year, we host 600 major events, have more than 30,000 leisure centre members and generate millions of pounds for the regional economy.

“Taking part in the Venus Awards provided us with an opportunity to celebrate these fantastic achievements. Meeting with Enhanced as part of the awards judging process gave us a great opportunity to talk about the positive impact we are having on communities and people’s lives. Accepting the award on behalf of the BH Live team has been a positive experience and we thank Enhanced and Venus for honouring us with their Company of the Year accolade.”

"BH Live’s growth and expansion is most impressive," says Gail, "The economic benefit that they bring to Dorset is considerable. Their mission to get more people active and engaged in cultural events is clearly working. A worthy winner of the Venus Company of the Year Award."
