Dynamics GP End-of-life | Is It Time For a New ERP System?
20th September 2024
Simon White, Chairman of the Boo Charity and CEO of Enhanced has recently experienced two of the most incredible weeks. Simon recently travelled to Kenya to visit the projects currently being carried out. All of these projects are funded through the charity and culminate in the annual Boo Ball which was held at AFC Bournemouth.
Simon was accompanied by his daughter, Luella on the trip to Kenya. They visited the Boo charity project Nyamache – Life Skills in Kenya. A wonderful project which has a life-changing impact for young vulnerable children. Project Nyamache teaches skills in dressmaking, IT, farming and much more. This enables employment opportunities for the children, some of who even start up their own business. They also travelled to Nairobi where they spent an amazing day in Kibera. The children were presented with simple gifts and donations including football kits and boots. The happiness captured at this very special moment is something Simon will never forget. “I met a young boy aged 14 who at the age of 11 discovered the Kimta project and its Boo supported football and membership programme. This saved him from a life amongst gangs and drugs. The trip was inspiring, it was incredible to meet up with a little girl I personally supported, Cecilia, since the age of 2. Now a blossoming 10 year old full of joy and hope for her future”.
Never has it been more important to raise crucial funds to continue to change the lives of more young people in Kenya. It has been a hard year for us all with little opportunity to fundraise for Boo due to Covid. It has had an impact on the daily lives of both the children and teachers within the Boo projects. Despite the adversities, we have made it through and continued to significantly transform the lives of those we support. This made the Boo Ball 2021 even more crucial, but with the incredible support of local businesses and generosity of individuals, the evening raised an incredible £23,000.
As a zero admin organisation, we could not do this without the kindness, generosity and dedication of everyone involved. We are determined to continue supporting and raising funds to further our work in Kenya and transform young peoples’ lives.
